Dialogue workshop 3: Energy savings in ventilation systems

This third dialogue workshop of streamSAVE Plus will focus on the energy savings potential of ventilation systems, with a particular emphasis on heat recovery in buildings. While often overlooked compared to other energy efficiency measures, ventilation plays a key role in reducing energy demand while ensuring adequate indoor air quality.

Building on previous discussions, the workshop will explore how energy savings from ventilation systems can be calculated more reliably, including the key data required, methodological approaches, and current challenges. Experts will also share insights from the streamSAVE+ methodology and recent research, including work under IEA EBC Annex 86 on energy-efficient indoor air quality management.

The discussion will address the link between energy efficiency and indoor environment quality, recent technological developments, as well as remaining barriers and data gaps in this field.
